AOP part 21: Portrait Close Up
Of course, the next step having got that close is to get even closer still. Rolling Stones anyone?
On the following two pages I want to show a small collection of the images from this tiny session.
The whole little shoot took 4 minutes, but you can see a whole range of images and crucially emotional themes we covered in that small time.
Look at how I have used the lighting to achieve different affects, all by just rotating Maja's face in and out of the natural window light.
I should also mention again Maja's high quality make-up, all done by Maja herself. Notice how she has created an almost matt, plain facial surface with a small hint or colour to emphasise her well defined cheek bones.
But then she very precisely defined her eyes and lashes with gorgeous brown and gold tones - the perfect way to bring out her blue eyes. Her lips are multi-toned, giving both an overall strong red look, but with the darker red providing a clear definition and not letting the lips soften out.
