Boudoir Red Sofa
Red is a very provocative colour, it is symbolic of danger and drama and in our context lust and sex.
It is also a really strong eye catching colour in any image. If you want a small object to stand out in a large field then colour it red and the eye will go to it immediately.
So using it in a shot like this where the red is such a large part of the image we are clearly using the colour as a statement.
Having established that the overall colour scheme is a dominating sexual colour we need to use posing and clothes which work with the theme.
This first pose of legs open, sitter thrusting forwards clearly depicts a strong, sexual woman. However, by making sure the legs are angled away from the camera we maintain her decorum - but also her power - not disclosing is more powerful than the full reveal.
Subjects of all sizes can still pull this image off, because although any sitting pose will have to scrunch the tummy: careful positioning of legs, arms and shadows helps hide all that.
Incidentally, although the red is a strong colour, in monochrome it goes to a very simple mid-tone grey.
The second image is a much more traditional glamour shot. We get nice long legs, a lovely curve in the back and still maintain the look of power in the sitter. A more common glamour shot is with the bum angled more to the camera, but again this dis-empowers the sitter, making her more of an object.
The high sided knickers give the effect of a really long leg, so by stretching the model out across the sofa we have made the legs look as long as possible. This shot will work with most sized subjects and also gives you room for photoshop slimming and toning if required.
Notice the bra strap pulled off the shoulder; this instantly gives a "naughty" girl effect and completely changes the story in the picture.
key points
Too many women select thongs as a sexy undergarment, but actually big, high waisted, high sided knickers like these work much better.
