AOP part 48: What to Shoot for Fashion

Over the many fashion catalogue shoots I've done I've realised that you must always check the back of the outfit.

There is this very tiny room at the location and I thought it would be fun to make Maja look like a giant.

Using a simple cosmetic mud pack we have been able to turn our lovely model into something else entirely.

THINKING: I often work to conceptual series. This image is from a series I title in my head "Voyeurism".

Compositionally it was what I wanted. Technically I got exactly the right mix of light and dark and a natural vignette.

And I moved on to another simple window light portrait. The top down view always works well with female subjects.

We switched outfits again, to something even less like Maja's normal wear. I don't think pastel blue would ever appear in her wardrobe!

THINKING: Stairs can be great places to shoot because they give the model so many posing opportunities.
