I really like the high contrast light and shade on this image, and Nikki is posed really well. It's a bit wide-angle for my liking which in particular has led to some distortion around the base. The bottom of this image could be cropped to remove the white floor.

As above it's a bit wide angle, but again the way you have caught the light on Nikki is lovely, very striking. I also like the way her eyes shine out from the shadows.

Here the wide-angle is not helping at all. The base of the image is way out of proportion to the top, it has also meant you've included some really distracting background there too.

OK, I'll stop talking about wide-angle now, because it's going to apply to all of them, again in this image it's made the head look too small. This looks slightly under-exposed. I suspect that on these last two a little bit of post processing could bring up the exposure and a little more colour in the costume.

Nicely caught, lovely direct expression. I'm concerned that the hand is cropped though. When cropping limbs you need to aim for mid-limb. To close to the ends of the limb looks more accidental.

Nice thoughtful pose, but again we've got too much floor in, this could crop to lose the bottom third and be a strong picture as a result.

A very static image, needs something a little more dramatic or eye catching really. The hands look very big in the image.

The hands are face are much better positioned in this image.

You need to get in much closer and use a longer lens. You've got two different problems and they are exacerbating each other. A strong portrait is one in which the face is filling the frame. A long lens will help you fill the frame, then you need to move in close.

For the longer shots, the wide-angle is distorting the image and giving you too much background.
