White Bed

A bed seems an obvious requirement for a boudoir shoot! Yet it can be quite a difficult piece of furniture to shoot around.

What you don't want to do is have the model sitting back in the bed, back against the bedhead. What this is going to do is make the tummy scrunch up and point to the feet to the camera - so when you shoot you get foreshortened legs. Overall a very unflattering look.

You never want feet to camera - so have your sitter turn right round so she is face to camera. Here Leah is looking right towards the viewer. I've framed this quite wide so I can get a lovely curve of bottom. Notice that the legs can just drift out of shot.

From this position you get a whole range of shots from open, happy to deep, mysterious and sexual. I really like these as topless shots, without the bra strap in shot and of course the sitter can still remain discrete or can reveal as much bust as they wish.

For a sitter who wants a more "lads mag" style of shoot - something more magazine like - this upright pose is very strong. The legs are spread, but faced away from the camera to give a provocative look that is still flattering.

The sitter can wear full underwear, just knickers or nothing at all and you can still pose so nothing is revealed. Just position the hips away from the camera and use the hands are arms to cover up.

You can pose the sitter lying on their back, but probably not topless. Lying down flattens the bust and you need the underwear to give a bit of support and shape.

This shot and its variations is one of the best sellers in the studio - easily one quarter of all our sales is this shot - nothing else comes close in popularity.

You can shoot this eyes open, eyes closed and smiling or lips just open. All of the versions are interesting and appealing and very attractive.
